DESCRIPTION
Tanagra is an idyllic wine & guest farm close to McGregor, run by owners Robert and Anette Rosenbach, who’ve relocated here from Germany in 2009. A giant wild fig tree that canopies the homestead and winery gave the name to the farm – the name ‘Tanagra’ echoes the Khoisan expression for a well-shaded place.
Come and share the beautiful landscapes, mountain views and sunsets, and experience life on a working farm. Tanagra offers 6 self-catering apartments and cottages, some situated at the main farm, close to the historic homestead (Garden cottage, Loft studio, Bottlebrush, Gumtree), with a swimming pool in the garden, others are tucked away in the wild fynbos of the surrounding hills (Hill cottage, Faraway), with private plunge pools.
Boutique Winery & Craft distillery on site – guests are welcome to come for a tasting of the wines and spirits we produce at Tanagra. Various farm trails on the farm which extend into neighbouring Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve. Great bird-watching.
The quaint village of McGregor is only a convenient 5 minutes’ drive away and offers a vibrant village life with lovely cafes, restaurants and shops.
