Klein karoo slack-packing

Klein Karoo Slack-Packing is based in Montagu Klein Karoo. 

Our tours are run on various different Game Farms and Private Nature Reserves.  Our slack-packing tours range from 2 day hiking excursions to a full 6 Day Camino on open gravel roads.

Options to our tours  runs from basic to Luxury guided tours and everything in between

Our aim and heart is to showcase the beauty, tranquillity and diverse vegetation and experiences of the Klein Karoo.

You will always be treated with exceptional food, amazing hospitality, panoramic vistas, star-filled skies and quiet tranquillity.

We do custom tours for groups of min 8 to 18 people, for that special birthday, anniversary to meditation and  quietness.

Klein Karoo Slack-Packing uses qualified Nature Guides for the guided tours, these guides have vast knowledge of the area as well as the fauna and flora.

From 2026 Klein Karoo Slack-Packing is also doing more adventure excursions where you walk with a day pack, while you overnight bag is transported into a kloof where your tent for the night is already set up.  Sleeping out in a remote Kloof that has never been accessible to the public before, is adventurous without being risky or leaving you broken afterwards. Accessible with moderate hiking fitness.
