White Lion Lodge

A Karoo Wilderness Retreat on the Route 62, offering a unique nature and wildlife experience near Cape Town. The privately-owned White Lion Lodge is situated in the southern part of the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. It offers luxury accommodation, exceptional personal service and delicious cuisine combined with safari’s through a 58000 ha concession of the Reserve and we offer a hot tub and massages as well.

Facilities

The privately owned White Lion Lodge is the perfect isolated safari hideaway and can accommodate up to eight guests in four individual rooms. Natural stone walkways meander through a Karoo garden and provide easy access between the main lodge and the suites.

Experience the silence of the Klein Karoo while our discreet staff ensure impeccable and personalised service. The Main Lodge is the main meeting point for a pre-dinner drink in the lounge next to a crackling fire.

Relax with a book from the library on one of the sun decks, wind down around the 15-meter infinity swimming pool, or laze on your private wooden deck and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the Klein Karoo.

South African cuisine is served either in the dining room or on the veranda under the glorious African sky. There is a complimentary Wi-Fi connection is located around the lodge. There is no cell phone reception at the reserve.

A private game vehicle with a qualified field guide takes you on two safaris per day. An afternoon nature drive through the southern part of the reserve and an early morning game drive to the northern side of the reserve.

Game Drives /Safari Drives

Your safari within the Wildlife Reserve can be carried out at any time throughout the day where you will be guided by your own private knowledgeable field guide in an open game viewing vehicle, who will provide you with insightful information on the fauna and flora of the Klein Karoo.
