Vrugtegeur Farm has been a cherished part of the Rossouw family for six generations. Over the centuries, the farm has evolved from a diverse agricultural endeavour, encompassing grain, sheep, brandy, apples, pears, and apricots, into a renowned export apple and pear farm.
In January 2023, our father, Johannes Rossouw, the last generation of farmers in the family, departed the farm at the remarkable age of 92. His parting wish to his four children was clear:
“Please do not ever sell this farm. You do not have to farm here anymore, but keep it and transform it into a holiday destination.”
It is with this heartfelt wish from Johannes Rossouw that the dream of Vrugtegeur guest houses and holiday farms was born. We are exceedingly excited to welcome guests from around the world to experience a piece of Vrugtegeur and create lasting memories in their hearts.
