Kingsley’s Camp at Mont Eco Game Reserve nestles in a quiet bend of a seasonal river in this 6500 hectare rehabilitated conservation gem. The off-grid Eco lodge embraces the ethos of innovative conservation solutions by harnessing sustainable outcrops, it also features open plains woven through with acacia tree lined riverbeds.
Mont Eco, which lies in the Cape floral kingdom, is located along the Langeberg mountain range in an unspoiled natural area encompassing three significant biomes, namely; Nama Karoo, Succulent Karoo and Fynbos.
With warm temperatures and a healthy dry climate. the small Karoo is a multifaceted jewel with a variety of macro and micro habitats. Experiencing low rainfall of approximately 260mm annually, this and semi desert wilderness getaway has both cool crisp winters and warm hot summers
Through the successful reintroduction of species which previously occurred in this habitat, Mont Eco now boasts the exiting big five, lion. leopard. elephant. rhino and buffalo. as well as iconic Karoo species such as brown hyena. aardvark and aardwolf, eland, orvx, klipspringer and springbok are common while shy species include bat eared fox, porcupine and caracal.
Game drives are conducted twice daily, just after sunrise and again before sunset.
