On Wednesday 7th at 4pm, the day on which Tchaikovsky was born in 1840, a special CONCERT (55mins) which features a performance of his Piano Concerto No.1.
The New Year´s Eve Concert 1988 was one of the last concerts that Herbert von Karajan gave with the Berliner Philharmoniker in Berlin. For this concert he invited the 17 year old Evgeny Kissin to his debut with the orchestra. After the concert the press did raving reviews about Kissin´s musicality and technical skills. It was broadcast internationally on television and made Kissin a household name and he proves till today that he is one of the best pianists of our time.
The piano concerto is preceded by a performance of Prokofiev’s Symphonie Classique.
This is a legendary concert, with a spectacular performance of the Tchaikovsky, and not to be missed by any music lover!
