There’s a ‘sweet’ addition to our #HeritageDay2025 collaboration with Langeberg Municipality and Montagu-Ashton Tourism Association (MATA).

This Heritage Day, we’re not just celebrating traditions — we’re inviting you to be part of them. And nothing says ‘South African heritage’ quite like a golden, cinnamon-dusted milk tart! 

If you think you have a winning milk tart recipe, then this is a call to enter our Heritage Day Baking Competition and show off your milk tart skills!

Whether it’s your unbeatable ‘tuisgebakte melktert’ or Ouma’s secret recipe, now’s your chance to put it to the test in the Best Milk Tart in Langeberg Competition.

 Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place are proudly sponsored by our local partners.

How to enter:
 Collect your entry form at the Tourism Office (at the Montagu Country Hotel).
 Submit your entry form to Mareletta at the MATA office by 22 September.
 Bring your milk tart to the Old Mission Church by 10h00 on 24 September for judging.

This is more than a bake-off — it’s about community pride, shared stories, and the delicious flavours that connect us all.
