
Every Friday morning, the stoep at Joubert House becomes more than just a fundraiser for the Montagu Museum — it turns into a community hub and a space where strangers arrive but leave as friends.
A TRUE STORY
Last Friday, Nigel from Cape Town — a curious fan of small-town museums and herbal teas — popped into Joubert House.
Unbeknownst to him, he’d also stepped into a slice of history, a medicinal herb garden, and Milk Tart Morning — complete with its cast of friendly (and delightfully eccentric) locals.
Within minutes, he was sipping tea, enjoying a generous slice of milk tart, and chatting with our gathered band of locals — a scene straight out of Lewis Carroll’s classic. (At least nobody shouted, ‘Off with his head!’)
