Speed Marketing Evening
Like the better-known speed dating, Montagu-Ashton Tourism hosted a Speed Marketing, "Soetes and Sop evening" on Wednesday, 28 June. All who attended were given one minute to share and impress, but this time it was all about what they do, what their business is about and what is new.

As you would expect from such an evening, everyone learned a lot about the people and their offerings in our local area. The attendees came from as far as Barrydale with a strong Montagu and Ashton contingent.
One point that was raised more than once was the need to SUPPORT LOCAL – but to support local we need to have the knowledge and ability to share.

Support Local MINI INDABA
In view of supporting local, another event planned by Montagu-Ashton Tourism is set on the calendar for 1 September 2017: a special Support Local MINI INDABA.
There is such a rich array of products/services in our valley and most people do not know about it as usually the producers do not sell their products/services at the Village Market.
Diarise the date, book a table and come and present your products/services to potential buyers. People want to support local products and services, but can only do so if they know what is available to them. Should your product not be available on the 1st, still come and market your seasonal produce.
Date: 1 September 2017
Venue: KWV Gallery
Time: 10:00 – 15:00
Cost: R100 per table (members of Montagu-Ashton Tourism office only pay R50)
RSVP: 10 August 2017 Fida Hess (fida@mimosa.co.za)

Brown Paper Montagu Custodians Exercise.
PJ Basson, the current MATA Chairman, shared another new initiative, called the 'Brown Paper Montagu Custodians Exercise'. The idea behind this exercise is to establish all the networks, organisations, friends and action groups that play a very important role in being the custodians of the treasures of Montagu & Ashton and in turn work hard in some way or another to create a better Montagu and Ashton community.
The starting point for this exercise is at the Montagu-Ashton Tourism office. You will see the BIG BROWN PAPER covering the entrance wall. Come inside, introduce yourself, grab a post-it-note or koki pen and add your bit on the brown paper.
