Wrapping up an exciting Year

Wrapping up an exciting Year

27 July 2012

Even on a tight budget anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
When I submitted the 2nd of the Bi-Annual Narrative reports on Tourism in Montagu-Ashton to the Langeberg Municipality, I realised what an exciting and full Tourism year we have behind us and even more so, ahead of us!!! A tourism year that ended on a high note and is starting off on an even higher note!

Amid the festivities of a Youth Arts Festival and a Breyten Boekefees just past, the energy is high and the vibe in and around town is tangible.

Wrapping up the Tourism financial year we are happy to share the good news - the MATA Committee has decided not to raise the 2012/2013 Membership Fees for Tourism members, since the commitment of regular members and many new members has been great and helped us tremendously on our path of success this past year. Montagu- Ashton Tourism Members can look out for their latest membership invoices that were mailed out in the past two weeks. PLEASE make payment as soon as possible to enable the continued smooth running of our successful office.

We grateful for and thank the passion and commitment of our Committee Members who helped to create a wonderful, collaborative success. Media coverage was visible and palpable throughout the year and brought success and created an interest in our town - all done on a tight budget.

The MATA committee is also happy and honoured to invite all our members, newcomers to town, prospective tourism supporters, our friends from the other towns in the Langeberg and all those who can see the value of Tourism in towns like Montagu, Ashton and the Langeberg region, to our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING:

Please diarise now:
Date: Thursday, 30 August
Time: 18:00 for 18:30
Place: Montagu Springs, Conference Room

More Good News! To prove the point - our LTA (Local Tourism Association), Montagu-Ashton Tourism, has been selected as one of the finalists in the Cape Winelands District Municipality Mayoral Awards for “Best Local Tourism Association”. The winners will be announced at a gala evening on 20 September as part of Celebrating TOURISM Month.
Yes, September is Tourism month, so let’s all dust off our party clothes and get the dancing shoes out . The Montagu Makiti is just around the corner and is a culmination of Local Collaboration and co-creation in Tourism – we are all part of this event in some or other way, so let’s put our commitment into providing the best of service and remind ourselves to show the visitors what the people of Montagu and Ashton are made of.
